2010 Grant History
Health for All
In June, 2010, as part of its continuing commitment to support immigrant workers in the San Diego/Tijuana region, the Foundation for Change awarded a total of $69,500 to eight organizations from two “focus funds” – the “Worker Health Justice” Fund and “Reproductive Justice” Fund. Democracy for All
To ensure a complete count of immigrant, border and refugee communities of San Diego County in the 2010 Census, the Foundation for Change led the “Make Yourself Count! / Hágase Contar!” Campaign. As part of this campaign the Foundation awarded over $148,000 in grants to organizations with established relationships of trust in “hard-to-count” communities (see below.) The campaign also included an expansive program of training, networking and mobilization that served to convene vast network of leaders and organizations for the work of census advocacy. The Foundation will continue to promote the work of civic participation in under-represented communities, in pursuit of our vision of "Democracy for All. Learn more at our Democracy for All page.
