About Me
A Psychology and Chicano/o Studies alumnus from SDSU and an alumnus of USD’s Nonprofit Management & Leadership masters program, Pedro has spent his career working within the non-profit sector. Through that work Pedro has had an opportunity to serve the San Diego community addressing issues of teen pregnancy, gang violence, voter education, health, community development, and issues of diversity. For his work locally, nationally, and internationally Pedro has been honored with several awards including the International Reebok Human Rights Award, The Channel 10 Leadership Award, The Cesar E. Chavez Social Justice Award, and he was inducted into the Sweetwater Schools District Hall of Fame. Pedro is proud to be part of San Diego's oldest Aztec dance circle, Danza Mexi’cayotl. Pedro is married to Rosalina Anaya-Garcia and on October 2007 they welcomed their first daughter Dahlia Citlali Anaya.
