About Me
My name is Andrea Rocha and I am the Program Officer for Immigrant and Border Communities at the Foundation for Change.

The primary role of this position is to assist in buiding networks of grantees and allies that are working to further the capacity of emerging leaders and grassroots organizations, especially those working with immigrant and Border communities of the San/Tijuana region.

My background is binational, bilingual; and I feel that I can move between Mexico and the US, with ease.

I have a B.A. in Latin American Studies from U.C. Berkeley and a Masters in Education (M.Ed) from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. The core of my values- what I consider my real education- has been shaped by working on economic and environmental justice initiatives with indigenous and migrant communities in both the U.S. and Mexico. I have worked in international progressive philanthropy for the last 8 years, including work with the Peace Development Fund, the Solidago Foundation and the UE Reserach & Education Fund

Between 2004 and 2007 I lived in Ensenada, Baja California, with my husband, Salvador, and worked with the Alliance for Sustainable Development with Indigenous Communities of Baja California (ADESU). We moved to San Diego in 2007.
