Are you talking with your friends about the upcoming campaign season? Do you have clear reasons for supporting the causes and candidates you do? Can you articulate these reasons in ways that sum up how you feel AND are persuasive to others?
Join me for breakfast next Friday, April 13, to discuss!
I have been in conversation with some colleagues from allied organizations, lamenting how poorly progressive values are represented in our public discourse. One of them wrote to me: "I’m concerned that the right wing continues to frame the debate and move public opinion rightward. I’d like to hear your opinion about this, and determine if we could, in any way, counter balance this shift."
I thought this a perfect topic for our upcoming community breakfast. How can we advance the causes we care about in our conversations and communications? How can we do so in ways that do not reduce our passion to partisan soundbites?
Join us next Friday, April 13, from 8 - 10 am at the Joyce Beers Community Center in Hillcrest, as we "crowdsource" a forward-looking message for the upcoming campaign season. As always, breakfast will be served starting at 8, we'll begin conversation at 8:30 and we'll have you on your way to work by 10 a.m.
